Presenting Data
When presenting data, clear language is as important as the numbers themselves. Avoid just reading out figures — instead, tell the story behind the data. Start with the overall trend: 'Revenue grew steadily throughout the year.' Then highlight the key moments: 'It peaked in Q3, reaching €2.4 million.' Explain any significant changes: 'The decline in Q4 can be attributed to increased competition.' Compare and contrast where relevant: 'Online sales rose by 40%, whereas in-store sales remained flat.' Always end with the implication: 'This suggests we should invest more in our digital channels.' Data without interpretation is just numbers.
💡 Did you know? The pie chart was invented by William Playfair in 1801. Despite being one of the most popular chart types, many data visualisation experts argue that pie charts are often the worst way to display information.

A:
I think the issue of peak is often misunderstood.

I agree. Most people don't consider the impact of decline.

Exactly. And when you add steady into the mix, it gets complicated.
