Asking questions well is one of the most important skills in English. We use question words to get information: What, Where, When, Why, Who, How.
For yes/no questions, we use do/does/did or am/is/are: Do you have a moment? Is the meeting at 3? Did you send the report?
For open questions, we put the question word first: What time is the meeting? Where is the office? How long does it take?
In professional situations, we often use indirect questions to sound more polite: Could you tell me where the toilets are? Do you know what time the meeting starts? I was wondering if you could help me.
Tag questions are short questions added to the end of a sentence: You are coming to the meeting, aren't you? She sent the email, didn't she?
