Hobbies and Free Time
Maria works very hard during the week. At the weekend, she likes to relax and enjoy her hobbies. She loves cooking — especially Spanish and Italian food. She also enjoys reading novels and watching films. On Sunday mornings, she goes running in the park near her house. She likes meeting friends for coffee and talking for hours. Last summer, she travelled to Portugal for ten days. She says: 'Hobbies are very important. They help me relax and be a better person at work. When I enjoy my free time, I am more creative and energetic in the office.'
💡 Did you know? Research shows that people with hobbies outside work are 34% less likely to experience burnout. Having something you enjoy that has nothing to do with your job is genuinely good for your career.
