Clothes and Shopping
Pedro works in an office. He usually wears a white shirt, dark trousers, and black shoes. On Fridays, the dress code is casual — he wears jeans and a comfortable jumper. Today he needs new clothes for an important presentation. He goes to a shop and asks the assistant: 'Do you have this shirt in a medium?' The assistant says: 'Yes, we have it in blue and white.' Pedro tries on the blue shirt. It fits perfectly. 'I will take it,' he says. He also buys a new jacket. He is ready for his presentation.
💡 Did you know? The business suit as we know it was popularised in the 1920s. Before that, men wore much more elaborate clothing to work. The suit was considered revolutionary for being simple and practical.
