At the Shop
Maria goes to the shop. She wants to buy some fruit and a bottle of water. She picks up two apples and a banana. The apples are cheap — only one euro. The water is one euro fifty. At the checkout, Maria pays with cash. She gives the cashier five euros. The cashier gives her two euros fifty in change. Maria asks for a receipt. She puts everything in her bag and leaves. Shopping is easy when you know the words!
💡 Did you know? The first shopping mall in the world opened in Milan, Italy in 1877. It is still open today and is called the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
